Bonaire is really a hidden gem filled with more hidden gems. It’s a small island being only about only 114 square miles with a population of about 19,000. The island was very quiet, but that was one of the beauties about it because you could literally here the nature around you; to the rippling of the waves, to the pitter patter as a stray dog runs by, it was all so beautiful. We rented a moped to get around the island; it was so exciting to feel the island wind in my hair as we explored more of Bonaire! At first glance (once you strayed away from the touristy parts), it had a desert feel because of the dry climate and it was filled with lots of cacti, but as we explored more of the island, we found the most beautiful beach filled with so much life. Don’t get me wrong, the cacti and the dry lands had a beauty that took my breath away, but the beach… the beach without a doubt was the best I’ve ever seen (and I went to school in Miami – so that says a lot). Thank you Bonaire, up next – Curaçao!
Until then, enjoy some pictures we took!
